Future Of The Children Report….
on highly qualified teachers is out. This one massive set of reports. Big sections are taking on hiring practices of teachers in areas such as Urban and Rural. Teacher Unions also get a look at. Labor markets are looked at in developed and non-developed countries as well.
Loads of interesting info in it. One graphic shows a downward trend of sorts that is showing less people who are college educated are working for lower pay than the average teacher. They used census data going up to the year 2000 only.
Supply and demand factors are problems in requiting highly qualified teacher in Urban Schools says Brian A. Jacob. He says higher salaries, improved working conditions, streamline the hiring process, may get more people to teach.
This report is a great long read.
