says that since the recession of 2001 44 out of 50 states have cut college education funding while only 15 states have increased student aid to offset tuition increases.

district is in debt the mayor wants to to quadruple the amount of parents that are hired as parent truancy officers.  Since the start of the program the 100 schools that have parent truancy officers have seen a drop of 11% in truancy rates.

People In Iowa Could Teach In A Classroom….

for one year in grades 7-12 without any formal training in the state of Iowa if state regulators change rules.

In order for a someone to get hired this way the teacher must have a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution, they must meet content requirements for a secondary teaching endorsement, have at least three years work experience, and they must register for a state-approved teacher intern program.

The school distict must have proper documentation that the job was listed state wide and that they have made a good attempt to find someone that is qualified for the job.
