Sallie Mae Is Out With A New Survey…

looking at how Americans pay for college.

They say the overall picture, expressed in percentages of the total spending from sources the average American family used to pay for college for 2009-10, is remarkably similar to the percentages reported for the 2008-09 year, but the amount paid has gone up big time.

The report does showcase over the past year a massive jump in the cost of going to a community college and a four-year state school. That jump did not occur in the 2008-2009 years.

They say that we have a rise in people dumping college choices after finding out how much college aid they are going to get.
