The Michigan League For Human Services Is Out With A Report…
looking at the Michigan Higher Education system.
They showcase that aid to Michigan’s 15 public universities declined by nearly 17 percent from 2002 to 2010 while undergraduate tuition for in-state residents during that same time period jumped 88 percent.
They also found funding for the state’s 28 community colleges decreased 7 percent between 2002 and 2010 while tuition increased 40 percent in the same time period.
They found that the state was one of top ones for tuition increases and funding decreases in the nation.
