The Arizona Republic looks at this charter school that was ranked 3rd best school in the nation according to the people at Newsweek.  The article goes into detail how this charter school works.

The school has only 10% of minortity students. This school will hold sixth graders back if they fail a final test twice. By the high school years 40% of the students have dropped out. Students will have alos taken a number of AP classes as well.

Teachers at the school wiil get bonuses if the students pass exams like the AIMS, if too few pass theire contract is not renewed.
