The Conference-Board Says….
in a new report that most young people lack the necessary skills to enter the workforce. The report surveyed 431 human resource officials to get results.
The biggest complaint is the poor writing skills that they have says the human resource officials, math skills are also a big complaint.
The report talks about the Pathways To Pharmacy program that CVS has. Students who get into this program start in the early grade levels. When they reach the high school years they have to take some required classes. They get a paid internship while in high school as well. After High school they go for a two-year apprenticeship where they learn stuff at college and work in a CVS pharmacy. After that they can go on to a four year degree program in pharmacy.
The report says that more college grads are going to get hired over the next few years.
This is only a small summary of the whole report which is a great read. A change in the educational system like I want will be a great start in fixing the quality of the workforce we need.
