has now set a limit of 4 credits in AP scores which is around one semesters worth of work. In 2005 they have accepted up to 89 credits. The article says that leaders at private liberal arts colleges are just following a national trend.
I do not like this at all, but we do have make sure the AP classes students do take of are quality though.
The report which is data filled to the brim compares data from the year 2000 and 2006. The shows show increases in every single state scoring at least a 3 or higher on one AP exam. The report does showcase a big racial gap in the students taking the AP exam.
They spend a couple of pages looking at the Texas Study that showcased students taking AP classes doing better in college.
The rest of the report mainly gives out detailed data on each test. Who takes the exam, hoe many take the exam, and score breakdown.
The AP reports on this program where college students in Indiana can get 20 grand over four year, but after they graduate from college they have to stay in the state for at least three years or they are going to have to pay all that money back.

The report does define a transfer to a four year college as completion, but they also say that many of those transfer students do not wind up with a college degree at all. One credit hour at a community college in California is only 20 bucks.

After looking at the main table this stuff helps insure some of the problems with producing a quality teacher, this stuff does not address curriculum problems loads of colleges have though.
