College Access Now Article…..

up from the people at the Christian Science Monitor.  This program recruits high school seniors that are from low-income families and helps get them to go to college.  Students in the program have to maintain a 2.0 grade average, do 8 hours of community service and spend 2 hours per week on college admissions.

price survery and they found that costs from tuition and books are one the rise.  Private college tuition up 5.7% and public college tuition is up 6.3%.

and the push it is making in other areas besides the SAT exam.  They are improving some school and mareketing English and Math curriculums for grades 6 through 12.

College Textbooks For Free…..

That is what the Freeload Press company is going to do. All you have to do is fill out a five-minute survey and then you can download a .pdf file of the textboook. These Textbooks will come with ads though.

I say this is a great idea.  I just skimmed through a textbook with some ads in it and it did not look that bad at all.

The Cover Story Of Time….

magazine says who needs Harvard.

I will agree that Harvard is a great college, but other colleges in the USA teach specialty degrees and classes Harvard skips and our economy would not work as well with out them.

Florida colleges will get into more on Hurricanes, The University of Oklahoma gets more into Tornadoes.

Some students need colleges with a small population. Other students need the college with the top of the line sports program with major TV air time.
