The Workforce Strategy Center….

has a report up that cities need to form “career pathways” for students to build a more knowledge-based economy that is customized to the needs of the local area.  They looked at one city in Kentucky that lost 4,000 workers in the manufacturing sector and showcased how that city helped get training to people so they could find new work.
I would say that my idea to fix the educational system does what it needs to do to create a more knowledge-based economy ready to meet the needs of the 21st century job market. You could say that it is similar to the idea they have.
