100 dollar gift cards to teachers so they can buy stuff for the classroom. Some are calling this gift an election-year-gimmick.

I would say that you need to give them more than just a measly 100 bucks per year for school supplies and if this is the only year it is handed out it is certainly an election gimmick even if the the legislature approved it.
