looking at social promotion going on for the Tucson-area middle-and high-school students. Included are a number of .pdf files, videos, graphics, and articles. It lasted over a few days.

In one of the many articles it says that one out of three students flunked classes, but 90% was able to move onto the next grade level.

Another article states that they found dozens of schools in which failure rates on state tests were greater than the rate of students who failed corresponding classes in English and math. They say this gap shows grade inflation.
