has up a report looking at surging endowments, but disappointing amounts of lower income people going to high-ranking universities and colleges. The study looks at the 30 highest rated universities and 30 highest rated liberal arts colleges.

In looking at the data from 1983 and 2006 only two universities in 2006 wound up with a better percentage of low income students going to college than the best school in 1983. This means that a whole load of high-ranking colleges saw a percentage drop in low income students going to college. The same trend occurred for the most part when looking at the liberal-arts colleges as well.
