a report on Boston and the pilot high schools that are in the area. All the pilot schools looked at are college prep schools with small population sizes.

They found the four-year graduation rate at pilot schools to be 75.7% versus 52.2% at Boston Public Schools. The attendance rate at the pilot schools is 94.4% versus 89.1% at the Boston Public Schools. The dropout rate at the pilot schools was 3% versus 6.5% at the Boston Public Schools. MCAS passing rates are an easy 10% more in math and ela for the pilot schools.

They did find from the years of 2001-2004 a good sized jump in the amount of students in a pilot school being retained for a year.

Pilot schools mainly serve the black and Latino populations says the report.

After looking at all the data in the report these schools look great and certainly more are going to be needed in the area.
