Program On Education Policy And Governance….
has released a report just looking at schools in the Philadelphia Area. They were only looking at math and reading scores.
The researchers found that after four years later for math scores the for-profit schools were ahead approximately 26 percent and 29 percent of a standard deviation or an extra 2/3 of school year. For non-profits after four years they were behind by 16% of the standard deviation.
For reading scores they had some interesting results. After 4 years for the for-profit schools they were only up 8 percent from standard deviation which is not much. For the non-profit schools they were behind 9% from standard deviation after three years, but up 4% from the standard deviation after four years.
