Massive New Thomas B. Fordam Foundation Report…
is out on 26 states and state testing standards. The results they found were that reading exams were easier than the math exams. They also found that 8th grade exams are harder than exams in the elementary grade levels.
The report says that states vary differently in what is called “passing.” This is a big problem and if you had some national set standards for students this problem can mostly be fixed.
Some states have not changed standards in years says the report. I think this is a no-no.
Increases in scores can be tied to easier exams says the report. BAD, BAD, BAD.
The report is fully data filled and even looks at sample questions and talks about how hard they are.
This is one great report that I would have liked to have seen all states getting a look over.
