LA Times New Report On College…

textbook prices is out. It looks at two different bills that the Gov. can sign. One that is being supported by the California Public Interest Research Group which faculty would get information on all textbooks in a subject area, how long the book is going to in uses, changes in thew new edition, and to have info online. The other bill is supported by the Assn. of American Publishers and that one wants publishers to list changes from previous editions, online or printed price lists, and campus bookstores will have to list retail pricing polices.

I think both of them need to be passed in order to get as many rules in place to help lower the cost of textbooks for college students.
