Utah Foundation Report….

on the increasing amount of teachers that are leaving schools in the state and what can be done to stop this trend.

Utah is a state that has some of the lowest starting pay for a teacher in the USA. The report does look at a bunch of other surveys done on areas outside of UTAH on teacher attrition.

The UTAH Foundation was able to get data from three schools districts inside the state. Top reasons these school district gave for teachers leaving the area was a residency change, retirement, or pregnancy. The number 1 reason they gave to stop teacher attrition was better salary and benefits. The number 2 reason was smaller class sizes.
