on prekindergarten class spending. They say the initial cost per student is $6,300 and would enroll just over 2 million students. In nine years time they say net annual effect on government budgets alone would turn positive and by 2050 for every one buck spend on prekindergarten classes would net $3.18 in budget savings. Included with the report is costs for this program in every single US state.

In a related article the Time-Dispatch reports that Virgina Gov. Timothy Kaine wants to offer a universal prekindergarten plan.
