Middle School Survey Out….
by the Phi Delta Kappa people is out.
The middle school students are very optimistic people. 92% say they will definitely or probably attend college. 93% say they will not drop out, BUT with they have looked at only 83% graduate from high school and 66% go onto college.
Around 85% feel at least somewhat prepared to succeed in high school.
58% only know a little about high school graduation requirements.
From reading this survey I think that the middle school years are going to have to be more of a transitional time period for the high school years. My ideas for an 8th grade career exploration class will certainly help with the transition to high school.
