that what high school students learn is not what they really need to learn in order to get into college. Over 35,000 surveys were sent in for this report.

The report showcases that high school teachers are way more confident than college level teachers in thinking that students are college ready based only on the state standards.

These things are what ACT is looking for in high school classes:

They did not really give an answer for writing classes. They said that college level people want a bigger focus on grammar and high school level teachers want a bigger focus on idea.

A bigger emphasis on a fundamental understanding of math concepts.

A bigger focus on reading strategies with complex text in reading class.

More inquiry-oriented instruction in science class.
