The Pew Research Center Has A Report Out….

looking at the increased borrowing for going to college.

They say 60% in 2008 are borrowing money to go to college compared to 52% in 1996.

The amount of borrowing for a bachelors degree is 23,000 vs 17,000 in 1996.

24% of people though at for profit schools though borrowed more than 40 grand compared with 5% of graduates at public institutions and 14% at not-for-profit schools.
