TV Show Review ‘Teach: Tony Danza’ on A&E

Tony Danza is back on TV and way out his normal element as a sitcom TV star as a high school teacher and assistant football coach in the latest reality TV show. Tony says in the show that he always wanted to be a teacher, but it never happened. He did some boxing, and then when on to star in the TV shows TAXI and Who’s the Boss. Then he hears president Obama saying people should give back so he decides to become a teacher.

The first show though was totally enjoyable even if it is an experimental type show that has him teaching just one class with 26 students in it. I felt it was real unlike a lot of the other stuff that is out their.

Tony is nervous and you can actually see it, even the students know it. I think he is just like a lot of first year teachers who feel like they are in over there heads and do not know what they are doing. He forgets to sign in on the first day. He even forgets to bring in a sheet of a paper for everyone in the class with some stuff on it. It is going to take him some time feel comfortable in the classroom.

Tony gets a classroom coach and he is going to need him a ton in order to survive the first year.

During the football game he leaves the field to speak with some of parents of the students that he has, a very interesting segment in the show.

I felt like the show had the right mix of comments from the students and from Tony. We get to learn from the students and from Tony. The hand sanitizers in the classroom is odd, but I will go for it.

I know I will be back for all this triumphs, and failures that Tony has throughout his first year at Northeast High.
