They say that most students even if they did graduate from college give their counselors at best a fair mark. 48% polled said they felt like they were another face in the crowd.

They found that students who get perfunctory counseling were more likely to delay college and make more questionable higher education choices.

They found that high school counselors were less effective than teachers.
