Children’s Institute Is Out…..

with a report looking at kids in Oregon and the Oregon’s kindergarten readiness survey the state does.

They say that the survey fails on four out of five standards. They say the survey is not well defined, does not meet basic statistical and psychometric standards, does not collect sufficient contextual information, and that the state does not provide adequate training and support for the teachers who
administer its kindergarten readiness survey. The survey does aligns with the state’s early learning guidelines though.
