have come out together with a report looking at New York City kids that used a lottery to get into a charter school vrs the kids that used a lottery, but could not get into a charter school.

In the area of the schools they looked at had most of the population was either black or Hispanic. They found a school year a a charter school they looked averaged 192 says with a couple going over 200.

They found that over 90% of students were lotteried in were either black or Hispanic and over 90% had free or reduced lunch.

The found that students going to a charter school did perform better than students that did not.
