Do Teachers Need Education Degrees?…..

That is the title of this New York Times Opinion piece. Nine people give their responses on this subject.

I would like to throw out my 2 cents worth:

I say an education degree is worth it, but quality is a key concern for me. The National Council on Teacher Quality has done various reports on colleges which I have reported on showcasing that many colleges fail to deliver proper education programs. Bad programs can easily lead lead to bad teachers and students.

I will add that we need more teachers like Albert Cullum in the world. College education programs need to move to create more of this quality of teacher, something that is not easy to do. The “A Touch Of Greatness” Documentary is a must see for anyone.
