Josh Lampman Article…
The Baltimore Sun reports on this person who is going to gradate from college with a mass load of debt. He wound up creating a Facebook group on the idea that all college debt needs to be eliminated. In only a couple of month he has racked up over 150,000 people who have joined his group and over 40,000 have signed a petition to eliminate college debt.
I do not think he is going to get a bill passed to eliminate college debt, but the amount of money you could have in a retirement account over a 40 year period just based on the money spent to pay down college debt for someone with like 30 grand plus in debt is huge.
College debt is fully getting out of hand.
The article says some economists say if you get rid of student loan debt, why not car loans or credit card debt. You can easily make a case they are similar things, but I would make the argument that education is so gosh darn more vital to the economy and America as a whole that it is fully different from car loan and credit card debt.
