When it came to 4th grade reading only 16 states could meet NAEP basic scores while no states could meet NAEP proficient standards.

When it came to 8th grade reading 30 states could meet NAEP basic scores while only one state could meet NAEP proficient standards.

When it came 4th grade math 37 states could meet NAEP basic scores while only one state could meet NAEP proficient standards.

When it came to 8th grade math 36 states could meet NAEP basic scores while only two states could meet NAEP proficient standards.

has a report out on students in ELL classes in the LA school district.

They say too many students in ELL classes are not out of them by the 8th grade and the sooner they are out the better their academic performance is.

Consortium On Chicago School Research….

has a report out looking at the effects of what happens when a school closes in the local school district.

They found that 42% of students when to another school that had bad performance, while only 6% transferred to a great school.

They found academic performance of students from closed schools to be same as it would have been three years down the road.

They also found graduation rates did not change at all.
