McKinsey & Company Out With A Report…

looking at the economic impact of the achievement gap in the school system. It is a data filled report showing a lot national and international test data.

They say that if the US closed the international achievement gap in 1998 to a county like Finland that in 2008 the GDP would have been 1.3-2.3 trillion more.

If only the Latino and Black achievement gap in the USA was closed by 1998 that in 2008 the GDP would have been between 310 and 525 billion higher. They continued to say it would even be higher in later years due to the growth in population in both of those races.

is out with an article and they also host a copy of a report looking at the 2007 class of Connecticut college grads.

Around 70% of them found work in state and averaged around 40,000 bucks a year in salary.

The U.S. News & World report is out with its annual list of the best grad schools.

The AP reports on Michigan State getting a 10 million dollar donation.

The Pioneer Press reports on the Minnesota House passing a bill that is going to put a 2% tuition increase cap a year in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system and $300 per year, around 3 percent, at the University of Minnesota.

The Denver Post reports on the 2009 Daniels Scholars.

The Des Moines Register reports on the wish list by community colleges in the state for the federal stimulus money.

The Detroit News is out with a new article on Wayne State University and the 3% increase in tuition for medical students. The article says that non-residents will pay almost 60 grand a year for tuition and fees.
