with the Harvard Coop over college book prices. The Harvard students want a complete list of books the Coop sells so they can put it up on a special website, but the Coop does not want to do it.
I think the Coop is wrong here and should do what the students want.
that the state school board is now split on weather to have graduation testing. Some ideas presented is a senior project for students who fail exams and implementing exams over a period of time.
They are both looking at 4th and 8th scores for math and reading.
When it comes to math scores scores for fourth graders are slowly moving up. Even the percentage of students in the fourth grade at the basic level is moving slowly up as well. All races looked at for fourth graders have showed score increases. The same stuff can be said of the eighth graders as well.
The reading scores at the fourth and eight grade level showcase the same trend as the math scores do. More students proficient at the basic level, more students getting better scores, etc…
Just nice slow and steady progress from both reports which is not a bad thing.
that looks at school suspensions and finds that blacks are more like to get suspended than whites. Black students make up only 5% of the student population in Iowa, but account for 22% of the suspensions. In New Jersey black students are 60 times more likely than white students to get expelled.
