on alternative certification for teachers is out.

The report says that 47 states have an alternative route to get teachers into the classroom.

The report does not list every single alternative program that was used for this report, only a couple did get talked about by name only.

They looked at basic information such as how many people get selected into the program, how much the program costs a student, how much coursework you have to do, etc… and put data into groups.

The report even stated what they wanted in a genuine alternative teacher certification program. They want a GPA above 2.75. I am not sure if that is too high a GPA to start. They want a major in the subject to be in the program. I can agree to that, but would like to see a major study if people with only a minor or two-year degree can hack it in the classroom. They want coursework requirement kept to a minimum and I fully agree with them. They want mentors for the teachers. I feel that then school district must provide them for any new teacher in a school district.

In the report was not to happy about these programs
