is worried about an enrollment slump. The college has 2.4% fewer students from a peak of 35,180 students in 2004. The state over the same period though has seen a 2% increase in overall college population. Colleges and universities in the state get paid by using a formula based primarily on enrollment growth.

National Task Force On Early Childhood Education For Hispanics….

has a new report out stating that Hispanic kids go into the school system with a lower level of reading readiness than non-Hispanic counterparts.

The scores for Hispanic kids were lower for all grade levels looked at by the people behind this report. They only used white kids for comparison.

Utah Foundation Report….

on the increasing amount of teachers that are leaving schools in the state and what can be done to stop this trend.

Utah is a state that has some of the lowest starting pay for a teacher in the USA. The report does look at a bunch of other surveys done on areas outside of UTAH on teacher attrition.

The UTAH Foundation was able to get data from three schools districts inside the state. Top reasons these school district gave for teachers leaving the area was a residency change, retirement, or pregnancy. The number 1 reason they gave to stop teacher attrition was better salary and benefits. The number 2 reason was smaller class sizes.
