In what I think is one of the most interesting data points in the report they say that only 57% of students getting A or B in Algebra II can meet a college readiness benchmark. Only 47% can say the same thing in physics.
In another interesting data set they showcasing only Illinois students they show that the higher the quality of the teacher and the level of math completed go hand in hand with meeting a college readiness benchmark.
The ACT wants four years of English. I give you three years of English for all students. To get to four years you have to get rid of the music or art class which I do not want to do.
They want at least three years of math. I give four years of math with three classes being 2 periods in length.
They want three years of social studies. I give you four which includes a econ/finance class in the 12th grade.

I agree that college readiness is going to have improve, but states are going at a snails pace to improve high school graduation standards.
