The one on the bartender from California had an interesting fact in it. The bartender says that 3 out four applicants immediately get accepted, but wind up on a waiting list. The San Diego City College president says that it is not uncommon up and down the state to have wait lists that go two and three years out.
That right there certainly showcases the total lack of classrooms and teachers needed to solve the crisis that can easily occur when the baby boomers in the nursing field retire.
The LA Times reports on this grass-roots group that helped students get into college with a college fair. The article says that 58% of 543 students surveyed at Lincoln High School said no teacher, counselor or administrator had ever explained the academic requirements to get into college.
on students trying to get into elite colleges. One student in the article sent out 14 applications to different colleges.

the math portion of the TAKS exam in record numbers. 85% of the students who took the English version of the exam passed it up from 81% one year ago and 50% passed the Spanish version of the exam up 3% from year ago.
