if signed into law would give parents a Class C misdemeanor and fined up to $500 if they can not provide a legit excuse as to why the missed a parent-teacher conference.

IMO I am not too happy about this idea. Parent-Teacher Conferences are a good thing, but handing out a misdemeanor charge is going a bit too far for me. I can go with fining a parent, but it should be left up to the judge on what is not a proper excuse. I also hope this does not bog down the court system for more important things.

on the SAT Exam has found out that the College Board is reusing old SAT exams as new ones. The article states this probably costs 350,000 to create a 100% brand new exam.
