is looking at an idea to set graduation standards for all 178 school districts. The board president does not want to make them mandatory and state wide since local school districts just love having the power to set their own graduation standard.

is considering a new plan on how it admits Iowa students that graduate from high school. The new idea would give approximately equal weighting to the GPA, the class rank and the number of core subject areas with the ACT score getting slightly less weight.
