Spellings Is Backing Some…..

of the ideas from the Commission on the Future of Higher Education.  She will agree to provide money to colleges that report how good students are doing.  She will agree to align high school standards with college work.  She Will agree to simplifying the financial aid process.

She will not agree to making pell grants pay 70% of tuition because it will cost to much.

It would be nice if college tuiton was free for anyone that wanted to go.  Would our economy be better today if the federal government back in the ealry 1900’s made college free and kept it that way????

in the state of Georgia are going to be left back a grade becuase they did not pass the Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests.  The percentage of people passing the exam in the third, fifth and eighth grade level is going up though.
