are going to be going to the Technology, Engineering, and Math-Science Academy in the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.  Students in this academy will discover practical uses for probability and statistics.

The state of Virgina did a pilot program in Caroline County and the city of Franklin to give out extra money to the new teaachers.  One middle school and one high school in each city. In the 2004-05 school year only the high schools saw improvement.   In the last school year both types of schools saw improvement based on preliminary data.
