It is a small school with only 60 students in it from grades 5 through eight. Students at this school have 12-hour days.

96% of the students come from homes where english is the not the primary language and 90% graduate high school on time.

NCLB Test Scores Will Be Delayed…

by one week in the state of Kentucky.  Some students received a 0 for a score on an online math test causing the delay.

This cause some parents to have problems with transferring  students to a better performing high school.

that if the middle school principals do not lower discipline and raise test scores their jobs are on the line.  He also sates that if test scores are not up in three to four years the district may take the step of removing the middle schools and replacing them with k-8 schools.
Last year all the middle schools had the lowest pssing rates for the ISTEP-Plus test and more than of the kids had at least one suspension for every two kids.

school system are still deadlock on major terms and they could go on strike.

The School District wants 88 million in teacher concessions while the Detroit Federation of Teachers wants a 15.6% increase for it’s top-tier teachers.

I think these school teachers are going to have to take a pay cut in order to get the budget in order. The shortfall they have is too much and is going to go away.
