Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education Report….

on states and what they do to allow students take college level classes while being a high school student.

They spend one whole chapter on the state of Florida.  The findings they show is that students with the advance classes graduated faster with associate and Bachlors than students without advance classes, but lots of students with advance classes still needed more than 2 years to get the associates degree.

The report also gives out some reccomendations on what states should do to have more students take college level classes while in high school.

has a new research report up on the Reading First program.  School in the Reading First program spend more time in reading, adopted more reading assessments, and adopted a new core reading program than Title 1 schools says the report.

before a verdict will be reached on the California high school exit exam.  Lawyers at the hearing arguing for the exam say the exam has raised the standards of education.

The hearing focused alot on the new students who are trying to learn English and lawyers for these people are saying that these students are not atught what is on the exam.
