a budget cut. The grant money from the Perkins Act go to places such as high schools to vocational classes. The passed bill will require states to run career programs, give students broad based academic skills, not just techincal skills.

The Bridge program in Camdem NJ is aimed to get students better prepared for high-school. Over 300 of the 1,000 students entering ninth grade eneter this program and is open to all incoming ninth graders.

The article from the Hartford Courant is mainly on Alicia Vose who is from Maine. She goes to the University of Connecuit, pays an out-of-state rate, and is going to pay an extra $2,800 to go school next year. This summer she plans to work 60 hours a week to try to offset costs.
Her total debt at this point of time is around 40 grand which is around twice the average debt graduates from college with.

the plan spring break will be split into two seperate weeks. The Niagara-Wheatfield Central School District School Board wants to do this so it will have the same schedule as the rest of NEw York State.
