This program includes over a dozen high school student from across the state of Connecticut that go to Manchester Community College so they can move foward in the engineering field.

The article from the Hartford Courant is mainly on Alicia Vose who is from Maine.  She goes to the University of Connecuit, pays an out-of-state rate, and is going to pay an extra $2,800 to go school next year.  This summer she plans to work 60 hours a week to try to offset costs.

Her total debt at this point of  time is around 40 grand which is around twice the average debt graduates from college with.

The Oregonian reports on this program for eight through twelfth graders.  People who participate in this program and maintain a 3.2 GPA in college prep classes will get automatic admission into Willamette University.
