Things this report reports:
- 75% of students are college commuters, often juggling families, jobs, and school
- Part Time students are not even counted by the federal government.
- 24.3% of part time students get a four year bachelors degree in 8 years.
- They found it took too long to get a college degree with useless credit hours. They want to cap degrees at certain credit hours.
- 50.1% in community Colleges, and 20.7% in 4-year schools take remedial classes.
The report even look at state data in big detail.

The College Board is out saying that SAT scores have dropped and that 1.65 million students have the taken the exam in 2011.
The New York Times reports on a few colleges that are going to allow a college student if they meet the requirements can go to the college for a fifth year for free to finish getting that college degree.

Two New reports out college bankruptcies are out. One from the federal government and one from the Institute for Financial Literacy.
The Federal government looked only at college bankruptcies:
8.8% of all borrowers have defaulted on loans which is up from 7%.
15% of for-profit students have defaulted on loans which is up from 11.6%.
7.2% of public students have defaulted on loans which is up from 6%.
4.6% of no-for-profit students have defaulted on loans which is up from 4%.

The Institute for Financial Literacy though looked at way more than just college bankruptcies.
They say:
6.73% of people with a graduates degree has filed for bankruptcy in 2010. That data has only been going up since 2006.
8.82 of people with an associates degree filed for bankruptcy in 2010. That data also has only been going up since 2006.
They also show a slow gradual rise in men declaring bankruptcy since 2006, but the females are showing a slow gradual decline.
They show that more people at the older age brackets filing for bankruptcy.

with a report stating that among all City Schools graduates from the Class of 2004 who started at a 2-year college, only 5.8% had earned a degree by 2010.
