American Diploma Project Is Out…

with a report just looking at end of course exams for Algebra I and Algebra II. 13 states were looked at.

When it came to Algebra I the grades looked at were 7-12 with some unidentified students. Scored showed students had best advanced level scores in the 7-8th grade levels. Same happened with proficient levels as well. Basic levels flat lined in grades 10-12. Below Basic scores went up with every single grade level topping off at 81.3% at grade 12, but only 214 students were tested at that level.

When it came to Algebra II scores most of the students were not prepared at all for college level work. From grade 8 on down the percentage of students that wound up with a prepared scored dropped at every single grade level. Same thing happened with welll prepared score as well.

on two dozen Arlington County public schools educators gathered last week to help learn nitty-gritty details on how to teach their students handwriting in class.

They also report on the local school district launching a new teacher evaluation system that will use achievement test scores to help determine weather a teacher keeps their job or not.
