on enrollment at the local school district that has stabilized. 44,397 students are now in the school district compared to the 45,000 student the district was looking for and way better than the first count of 37,000.

on two new high schools for the arts that debuted this week in the local school district. The Los Angeles Unified school has a price tag of 232 million while the other school, The Fernando Pullum Performing Arts High School, has been created on vastly smaller budget.

USA Today is out with an interview with the authors of the book Crossing the finish line.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports on Gov. Quinn and House Speaker Michael Madigan who both favor hiking the cigarette tax a buck in order to pay for college scholarships.

They also report that enrollment at Grand View University is up.
