The New Teacher Project Is Out…

with a study out looking at teachers and teacher effectiveness. The report looks at only 12 school districts in four states.

For the 12 school districts they looked at hardly any teacher got a poor rating which included the gigantic Chicago Public Schools.

They want to see a comprehensive performance evaluation procedure that fairly, accurately and credibly differentiates teachers based on their effectiveness in promoting student achievement. They also want lower-stakes options for ineffective
teachers to exit the district and a system of due process that is fair but efficient.

I have to fully agree with what the people behind the report are saying. No way can all 12 school districts they have listed have so few teachers that are in the unsatisfactory level.
