The school district has 35 schools, 22,000 students, and over 1900 teachers. They say that teachers in other school districts in the state make more money.
They want to see principals in the school district have more say on who gets interviewed or hired. They want teachers to have more freedom to go after job vacancies. They would like to see longer work days for teachers and for teachers to have fewer sick days. They want new teachers to get a full time coach for the first two months in the school.
That is only some of the many recommendations that they have for the school district.
