on a new study looking at African American students in the Portland Oregon area that says you need to bridge the achievement gap early. They found that the African American students stay 8 points behind the white students on average no matter what the grade is.

says that in 2008 a grand total of 31.6 billion in contributions went to colleges which is an increase of 6.2% from last year.

Out of 1,052 survey respondents the top 20 schools picked up 26.6% of all contributions. Just looking at the the top 20 list it shows many colleges with the highest college endowments in the USA.

on free lunch programs at school getting cut.

is going to increase tuition by 3.8% to almost 40 grand a year. The article says this is the smallest increase percentage wise in 35 years.
