at the school district budget problems turning the spotlight on reserve teachers. The article says the school district has 1,400 of these teachers and the teachers’ union would like to see a hiring freeze so reserve teachers can fill vacancies.

spending for Pre-K education and they say that 32 states are going to increase funding for Pre-k in 2009. The only state to not get counted this time was California who did not have a budget in place at press time for this report.
