California’s Schools Chief Says…..

that it will cost the state an extra 3.1 billion bucks in order for the state to meet algebra education goals. The article 1.5 billion is just going to be spent on extra instructional time.

2008 Education Next – PEPG Survey Out….

on the USA educational system is out.

Some stats from the survey:

80% of people polled give schools as a whole a C grade or worse while only 60% do the same thing for local schools.

69% polled want national set standards.

50% polled want reauthorization of the No Child Left Behind Bill in 2008, 57% wanted it last year.

69% are willing to have a student take a class online.

shows that over just over 52% in New York City graduate in four year. The statewide average though is 68.6% which is up over 1% from last year.
